Beasts of burden
Creatures of habit
Guzzle blackness in the light
Fluorescent, burning
Dependent on another creature
Greedy, hungry

We sustain her as she grows
And she sustains us as we grow
But what when sustenance is lost
Do we do?

Can we fight our urges
To become fat on wealth?
Or will we fall
Into a malnourished slumber
When she has devoured our mother
That we so willingly gave?

Very nice poem entry. It has a good insight into the ideals of men in this day and age. I also admire how you bring the whole idea of the human heart always feeling empty into this. The technique was great, though I felt some punctuation should have been placed in certain places, it wasn't bad grammar-wise. I feel like this poem also makes me think about human nature more, which is why it makes a strong impact on me <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>. Overall, the piece seems to be solidly paced and the idea within it fairly intriguing. Keep up the great work.
